The Call of Duty League (CDL) 2026 Major 1 continues on Saturday, with two upper bracket semifinal fixtures, when Paris Gentle Mates clash with the Los Angeles Thieves, followed by a meeting between the high-flying G2 Minnesota and OpTic Texas.

PARIS GENTLE MATES vs LOS ANGELES THIEVES

Paris Gentle Mates kicked off CDL 2026 Major 1 with a 3-1 victory against Toronto KOI. They dropped Search & Destroy – Exposure 1-3, but won Overload – Exposure 6-3 and both Hardpoints (Den and Exposure) with 250-169 and 250-154.

As expected, Gentle Mates dominated on Hardpoint, but were not as convincing on the other two game modes. This has been a trend with this team over the qualifiers.

Los Angeles Thieves won their first Major game against the Carolina Royal Ravens without any issues. They picked up Hardpoint – Exposure with 250-189, Search & Destroy – Den with 6-3, and Overload – Scar with 6-3. Seeing the Thieves crush Royal Ravens is promising, considering Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale and his crew looked great heading into the Major.

These two teams are not alike. While LA Thieves tend to do well on Search & Destroy and struggle on respawns, Paris Gentle Mates do well on Hardpoint but less so on the other two game modes.

OPTIC TEXAS vs G2 MINNESOTA

G2 Minnesota did not look great on any game mode before Major 1, but they managed to crush FaZe Vegas 3-0 in the first game of the Major. On the other side, OpTic Texas picked up a massive 3-0 sweep against Riyadh Falcons, despite looking shaky heading into the Major.

OpTic’s victory could be seen as a strong indication that they’ve found their old form, turning them into serious Major title contenders. While they are up against another in-form team, G2 Minnesota’s victory against FaZe was their most notable game so far, and could be considered a fluke.

G2 Minnesota might have figured something out. But OpTic Texas entered the 2026 CDL season as the top dogs for a reason.
