The MonoglZ swept Aurora Gaming in the Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup 2025 grand finals on Sunday, securing their first S-Tier title of the season.

The Mongolian outfit entered the title decider as -250 favorites on the best CS2 betting sites after an impressive single-elimination bracket run at Boulevard Riyadh City in Saudi Arabia, beating Team Liquid, TYLOO, and Team Vitality along the way.

The CS2 EWC grand finals kicked off on Mirage, which featured a back-and-forth battle between the two squads.

Özgür “woxic” Eker and İsmailсan “XANTARES” Dörtkarde led the charge for Aurora, while Sodbayar “Techno4K” Munkhbol carried most of the burden for The MongolZ, ending the series with a 1.84 performance rating.

Largely thanks to the 20-year-old rifler, The MonogolZ snatched a 16-14 overtime win to lock in their map pick.

Aurora had their chance to win their map pick, Dust2, and started off strong, securing the first three rounds.

However, the game quickly turned upside down, as The MongolZ won seven of the remaining rounds to enter halftime 7-5 up.

After losing the first two rounds on CT side, Aurora Gaming strung together four rounds, only for The MongolZ to return the favor and close out the map at 13-9.

With backs against the wall, Aurora failed to find any momentum on Nuke, struggling to put together three rounds before the switch.

Even on the attack, the Turkish side’s attempts to close the gap proved futile, as they had to admit defeat at 4-13.

While Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold ended the match as the top-performing player, posting a 1.40 series rating, it was Techno4K (1.33) who claimed the MVP award and received a US$10,000 bonus on top of his split of the $500,000 tournament winner’s share.

With the conclusion of the Counter-Strike 2 tournament, this year’s Esports World Cup has come to a close, ending seven weeks of pro gaming action in Riyadh.

The focus now shifts to the next big event on the CS2 calendar: BLAST Open Fall 2025, which is scheduled to start with closed qualifiers on August 27.
