Bilibili Gaming mid laner Ding “knight” Zhuo has been named League of Legends Pro League (LPL) MVP at the LPL All-Star Awards on Saturday.

By winning the MVP accolade, the 24-year-old became the first player to accomplish the feat back-to-back after winning the league MVP title in 2023 while he was a member of JD Gaming.

Knight ends the 2024 League of Legends esports season on a high note, adding to the achievements he accomplished with Bilibili Gaming.

The Chinese powerhouse left a great impression on the international stage with runner-up finishes at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 and LoL World Championship.

Though knight and co. slipped at the final hurdle at both international events, they were a force to be reckoned with domestically – they won both LPL Spring and LPL Summer trophies and the two regular seasons with a combined record of 22-2.

The team’s success is largely thanks to their mid laner, who played a key role in Bilibili Gaming’s LPL dominance.

He had the third-highest KDA (6.5) in the LPL 2024 Spring regular season, second-highest in the LPL 2024 Spring playoffs (6.00), and fourth-highest in LPL 2024 Summer regular season (6.6) and Playoffs (7.2) for a combined KDA of 6.6.

Knight’s most notable performance came in the LPL 2024 Summer Playoffs, where he posted the highest average kill count (6.1), creep score per minute (10.2), gold per minute (489), and third-highest damage per minute (812).

The 2024 season was also a historic moment for knight and the league, as the mid lade became the first and only player in the league to win four back-to-back LPL titles: two with JD Gaming in 2023 and two with Bilibili Gaming in 2024.

Knight came just two maps away from 6-peating, as he lost the LPL 2022 Spring Playoffs 2-3 against Royal Never Give Up and the LPL 2022 Summer Playoffs against JD Gaming while playing for Top Esports.

The mid laner has not played for Bilibili Gaming in the recently finished NEST 2024 but will continue with the team in the LPL 2025 season, set to begin in January.
