The League of Legends World Championship will move into the knockout stage on Thursday, October 17, with the first of four quarter-finals set to be played in Paris, France.

With the Swiss stage in the rear-view mirror, the eight teams that remain in the tournament will clash in a single-elimination bracket across the next three weeks.

Gen.G, LNG Esports, Hanwha Life Esports, T1 and Top Esports had already secured their spots in the knockout stage before Sunday, leaving three spots to be filled from the three series that featured on Sunday.

Weibo Gaming locked in their playoff spot with a reverse sweep of Dplus KIA, coming back from a 0-1 deficit to claim the round five clash 2-1.

Weibo’s fellow LPL representative, Bilibili Gaming, joined them in the quarter-finals after they defeated G2 Esports 2-1 in the second series of the day.

The pair traded maps through the first two games before Bilibili overpowered the LEC representative to ensure all four Chinese teams advanced to the final stage of LoL Worlds 2024.

The final series of round five was an all-LCS affair between Team Liquid and FlyQuest.

FlyQuest took the opening map of the series, but Liquid responded in kind to send the clash to a third map.

It only took 29 minutes for FlyQuest to close out the final game of the Swiss stage and secure their spot in the quarter-finals.

Following the conclusion of the last series, the draw for the knockout stage took place inside the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany.

LNG Esports will open the next phase when they clash with Weibo Gaming, followed by Hanwha Life Esports vs Bilibili Gaming.

Top Esports will lock horns with reigning world champions T1, and tournament favourites Gen.G will face FlyQuest.
