Dignitas barely made it into the LCS Lock-In 2022 playoffs; their only win in the group stage came against Immortals, who ended the tournament 0-4. However, while Dignitas were far from convincing early in the tournament, the perpetual underdogs shifted into a higher gear and stomped the reigning LCS champions, 100 Thieves, last Saturday to reach the semi-finals.
Much of their success on the day was thanks to former PSG Talon jungler Kim “River” Dong-woo, who always seemed to be at the right place at the right time and created enough pressure for 100T to crack. Due to their solid performance against 100 Thieves, we have to show Dignitas some respect ahead of their semi-final clash with Team Liquid, but that doesn’t change the fact that Liquid are a far more stacked roster across all five positions.
Liquid strike us as a team that will be highly consistent throughout the year, mainly due to all the veteran players on the roster. Admittedly, they haven’t beaten any strong teams yet this season, but their playstyle is very controlled and the team as a whole plays very efficiently.
At +448, you could argue that there is some value with Dignitas, but we can’t imagine a world where they upset Liquid. Like River, Lucas “Santorin” Larsen is a very efficient jungler and should make it tougher for Dignitas to gain the same advantages they did against 100T.
