Rex Regum Qeon finished the regular season with a promising 4-1 record, which was enough for second place in Group Omega. Global Esports were slightly less successful, ending Group Alpha with a 3-2 record after beating Nongshim RedForce in a third-place decider.

On form alone, it is easy to see why Rex Regum Qeon are viewed as favourites for Thursday’s game. The best VALORANT bookmakers have RRQ priced at -151.52, giving them a 60.2% implied probability of winning the series.

RRQ not only finished with the better record, but they also bring more experience into this playoff matchup. That matters, especially now that the pressure rises and teams have less room for sloppy maps.

Even so, Global Esports should not be priced this high. Their 3-2 record came in Group Alpha, which was the stronger group of the two, and they showed enough quality across the regular season to suggest they can match RRQ blow for blow.

There are enough arguments in favour of Rex Regum Qeon, but this feels much closer to a coin flip than the odds suggest. At plus money, Global Esports are the more appealing side.

DRX vs FULL SENSE

DRX ended Group Alpha with a 4-1 record, though their regular season closed with a loss to Paper Rex. FULL SENSE placed third in Group Omega at 3-2 after dropping their final two matches against Rex Regum Qeon and T1.

That two-game skid is not ideal for FULL SENSE heading into the playoffs, but DRX have not exactly looked clean either. Their final two weeks of the regular season came with a few warning signs, including a close call against Gen.G and a rough defeat to Paper Rex.

The loss to Paper Rex was especially concerning, with DRX getting handled 5-13 on Breeze and Lotus. That does not erase the stronger work they produced earlier in the stage, but it does make them a difficult team to trust at a short price.

DRX have shown the higher ceiling this season, but if they play anywhere near the level they have shown over the last couple of weeks, FULL SENSE have a realistic path to the upset. At +137, the underdogs are worth backing.
