Two VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) China rivals, Nova Esports and FunPlus Phoenix, will face off on Friday for the second time in just over a month.
Nova rebuilt their team this offseason, with Chiu “Green” Chien-chih and Ho “HeiB” Shun-hei as a new in-game leader.
The new roster already debuted during the VALORANT China Evolution Series Epilogue in November. They placed second, beating EDward Gaming and JD Gaming, before admitting defeat to FunPlus Phoenix in the finals.
It was a fairly competitive affair. FunPlus Phoenix won with 13-7 on Bind, 13-11 on Corrode, and 14-12 on Sunset, dropping Haven in overtime, with 14-12, thus playing three two-overtime games.
Despite narrowly winning, FPX have looked much sharper this offseason with Natchaphon “sScary” Matarat and Ou “Setrod” Tai-keng, and are rightly the favorites on the top VALORANT bookmakers to win on Friday.

G2 Esports and Gen.G Esports last met during Masters Toronto, when G2 Esports won. According to the offered betting odds, they are expected to do just as well in the rematch.
Not much has changed in the G2 camp since Toronto. They have since promoted Andrej “babybay” Francisty to the main lineup and won Red Bull Home Ground 2025 in November. Gen.G have also made some changes, as they lost Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom to T1 and benched Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung.
For this tournament, Gen.G will field Kim “ZynX” Dong-ha, who has recently helped them reach the semifinals of SOOP VALORANT League 2025. But that run to the top four was not as convincing as it may seem.
G2 Esports look much better than Gen.G ahead of their clash and are in better shape. This should end in a comfortable victory for the VCT Americas champions.

Paper Rex are firm favorites to defeat Bilibili Gaming on Friday, which is not surprising. The VCT Pacific juggernauts have made only one change this offseason, replacing Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza with Adrian “invy” Reyes, who looks like an upgrade on paper.
While Paper Rex have yet to play with their new roster, this lineup has the potential to be just as dangerous as the old PRX, if not more.
Bilibili Gaming enter VALORANT Radiant International Invitational with no changes to their roster from last season. Since placing 13th-16th at VALORANT Champions, BLG have attended two events – they placed third at China Esports Festival Super Champions Cup but exited Shanghai Esports Masters in the first round.
Even though the Chinese outfit have had a chance to warm up this offseason, their performances do not inspire much confidence. This is Paper Rex’s game to lose.

Bilibili Gaming have looked very shaky this offseason. While they have played just five games – and won two – BLG have not amazed.
Nova Esports also haven’t been very active either, with just three matches since August. However, they have defeated EDward Gaming and JD Gaming, and played a competitive game against FunPlus Phoenix.
These two teams have some history together, but they’ve not faced each other since February, when Nova won 2-0. Since then, Nova Esports have not reached the heights of BLG, who won VCT China Stage 3. However, they have produced more consistent results, even this offseason.
At +150, Nova look underrated. Despite roster changes, Nova Esports have been performing well and should be priced much closer to even money.
