Paper Rex are $1.57 favourites on the top VALORANT bookmakers to defeat Leviatan in the first round of Masters London. As one of the world’s best and most experienced teams, Paper Rex deserve respect, although it is not fair to underestimate Leviatan either.

Paper Rex appear to be the more complete team. They are far more experienced on LAN than Leviatan, are very flexible, and should not be heavily affected by the current meta.

Leviatan, meanwhile, are a younger roster with less flexibility when it comes to strategy, but they boast a scary amount of firepower. They have also had a chance to warm up ahead of the playoffs after fighting their way through the Swiss Stage.

Leviatan beating Paper Rex would be an upset, but at these numbers, they are worth a bet. Paper Rex have not played a game since VCT Pacific Stage 1, and despite their high ceiling, even PR could struggle to slow down Leviatan’s fast-paced approach.

Team Heretics and Team Vitality last met in May in the VCT EMEA Stage 1 grand final. Heretics edged out a 3-2 victory on the day, but there are arguments to be made that Vitality should have won that match.

Having secured EMEA’s first seed, Team Heretics have not played an official match in a month, which brings some obvious drawbacks. Not only are they potentially rusty, but Heretics have also yet to experience the current meta on stage.

Team Vitality, on the other hand, seem to have adjusted well to the changes. Their run through the first stage of Masters London was not especially impressive due to the lack of elite opposition, but the eye test suggests the Bees are in good shape.

Considering how the last meeting between Vitality and Heretics played out, it is fair to say the two EMEA squads are not far apart. With Vitality warmed up and Heretics coming in cold, it makes sense to side with the favourites to kick off the playoffs with a win.
