Gentle Mates named as VCT EMEA partner team

On Monday, June 8, Gentle Mates announced the signing of Yusuf Emre “Proxh” Tunc, who returns under his old banner after a five-month stint with Enterprise Esports.

The 23-year-old player is set to make his return to VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA for Stage 2 after re-signing with Gentle Mates, where he replaces Conner “GLYPH” Garcia.

Proxh already wore the Gentle Mates jersey last year, having originally joined the European team on loan in May 2025. Shortly after, he signed a permanent contract, which tied him to Gentle Mates for four months.

During that stint, Proxh attended the Esports World Cup EMEA Qualifier, BtcTurk GameFest, and VCT EMEA Stage 2.

However, besides winning the regional Turkish event, success was hard to come by for Proxh, who stepped down from Gentle Mates’ active roster in September.

Over the next three months, the German-Turkish player featured for Eintracht Frankfurt, FMCL, and Team Liquid before signing with Enterprise Esports.

With Enterprise, Proxh dominated the Challengers league, winning five titles, including EMEA Stage 1.

Having proven himself in the second division, Proxh now strengthens a Gentle Mates side in dire need of reinforcements following a disappointing run through Stage 1.

The European squad kicked off the season with a silver medal from the Kickoff event but failed to reach the same heights in Stage 1, ending the league in fifth-sixth place.

Following less-than-inspiring performances in Stage 1, Gentle Mates parted ways with coach Pavle “pakko” Kostić.

That change led to some improvement, as Gentle Mates won the EWC 2026 EMEA Qualifier. However, the team’s new coach, Jiri “KUNDIKUNDI” Honkala, appears to have opted to further bolster the roster before EWC and EMEA Stage 2.

Having failed to qualify for VALORANT Masters London, Gentle Mates are now on an extended break and will not return to action until July 2, with the opening day of the Esports World Cup.
