With the conclusion of Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Europe RMR B on Sunday, the 24-team list for the main event has been finalised.

Welcoming three representatives from Asia-Pacific, seven from the Americas, and 14 from Europe, the Perfect World Shanghai Major will be the first-ever Counter-Strike Major held in China and the final S-Tier event of the 2024 season.

Like the recent PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the upcoming tournament will be missing a few notable squads — namely Eternal Fire, Team Falcons, and also Astralis, who have now missed four consecutive Majors.

On the other side, the Perfect World Shanghai Major will welcome a few surprise appearances, including Passion UA, Fnatic, and Wildcard.

The RMRs did not end without drama, as Valve announced a significant change of the Major elimination stage invite rules.

The update will determine which eight Europe RMR teams receive direct invites to the elimination stage of the Shanghai Major.

The remaining six European sides will start their campaign in the opening stage alongside squads from the Asia-Pacific and Americas RMRs.

The changes mean there is a chance Europe RMR B winners BIG and DMAX will not be granted a spot in the final .

With the seeding still to be confirmed, Counter-Strike betting sites have yet to frame their outright markets for the Shanghai Major.
