Minnesota RØKKR announced the departure of Paul “PaulEhx” Avila, who was released from the active Call of Duty esports roster after just under five months.
The changes come following RØKKR’s disappointing performance at Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Major 2, where PaulEhx and co. placed ninth-12th.
PaulEhx’s departure is the first roster change RØKKR have made since they assembled the 2025 roster, consisting of former Las Vegas Legion duo Dylan “Nero” Koch and Giovanni “Gio” Webster, PaulEhx, and Justice “Estreal” McMillan as the only carryover from 2024.

The new squad have had a solid start to the year. They reached the semifinals of CDL 2025 Minor 1 and ended Major 1 in fifth-sixth-place after a close loss to lower bracket finalists, Miami Heretics.
Since then, Minnesota RØKKR have hit a slump with a ninth-12th-place finish at CDL 2025 Minor 2, a seventh-place finish in the Major 2 qualifiers, and a round-one exit from the recent Major with two 0-3 defeats against Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Texas.
Their recent struggles led to RØKKR dropping down to 10th place in the 2025 CDL season standings with 90 CDL points, 10 short of breaking into the top eight and securing a spot at the season-culminating CDL Championship 2025.
While the whole roster is to blame for RØKKR’s lack of success, PaulEhx stood out as a player who struggled the most individually.
He averaged a 0.85 K/D in Stage 2, with 0.88 on Control, 0.83 on Hardpoint, and 0.90 on Search & Destroy.
In contrast, RØKKR’s second-worst player, Nero, has posted a 0.91 K/D average across the three game modes, behind Gio at 1.04 and Estreal, who ended last stage with an inspiring 1.12 K/D.
It is unclear who RØKKR will bring in to fill in the void left behind by the 23-year-old.
Two AR players, Tyler “FeLo” Johnson and Kenneth “Kenny” Williams, have been linked with RØKKR as potential replacements; however, there are no official confirmations yet.
Minnesota RØKKR return to action on April 4, when they face off against OpTic Texas in the first week of CDL 2025 Major 3 Qualifiers.
