JD Gaming enter LPL 2021 Summer with a new logo and a new ADC in Huang “Lpc” Hao, formerly of their academy team. JDG have also parted ways with their substitute mid laner Su “Xiye” Han-Wei, who left for LGD Gaming.

JDG were solid last split, but they were also highly overrated by the esports bookmakers, who seemed to not care about the team’s poor stats. JDG’s biggest weaknesses during LPL 2021 Spring were their predictability and questionable macro decisions, although they showed some improvement during the LPL 2021 Spring playoffs.

ThunderTalk Gaming were one of the best early-game teams in the league last split, but that didn’t mean much since they were wasteful when it came to using their early advantages. Ahead of LPL 2021 Summer, TT decided to make a couple of changes to their roster, adding a new top laner in Xie “Langx” Zhen-Ying and two mid laners in Ji “Ye” Xin-Yu and Luo “Captain” Fei-Yang.

TT Gaming now own a talented roster capable of a solid mid-table finish, and if they figure out their mid-game transition, they might even make a push for playoffs. JDG are a much better team overall, but quality doesn’t necessarily show so early into the split, so there’s far more value with ThunderTalk at the map line.

LGD GAMING vs RARE ATOM LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: LGD +379 at BetOnline | RA -555.56 at BetOnline

Ex-MAD Lions jungler Zhiqiang “shad0w” Zhao joined LGD Gaming during the offseason as the first Western player to appear in the Chinese LoL Pro League. Although he has had his ups and downs in Europe and has been criticised as a player who only does well on his preferred champion picks, the current meta seems to suit him.

Also, support Ling “Mark” Xu and mid laner and mid laner Xiye have made a return to the team after spending the last split at Bilibili Gaming and JD Gaming respectively. With their current roster, LGD Gaming won’t be competing for the LPL title, but they definitely have a lot of upside.

Rare Atom took down Oh My God on Tuesday, but that was largely down to OMG playing poorly rather than RA showing anything exceptional. As such, it doesn’t make much sense to have them priced as -909.09 favourites for this bout.

LGD Gaming won’t be moving any mountains this split, but we like them as an underdog pick for this bout. At +105, betting on LGD to win at least one map is a bet we can’t pass on.
