KovaQ leaves Team Vitality VALORANT roster

Team Vitality announced on Saturday, January 10, that they are parting ways with Blendi “KovaQ” Kovaci, thus reducing their total VALORANT team size to six players.

KovaQ joined Team Vitality in October 2025 alongside Bartosz “UNFAKE” Bernacki as replacements for Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel and Clément “CyvOph” Millard.

Despite arriving late in the season, KovaQ has played a key role for Vitality throughout the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA Stage 2, serving as a flex playercross the five games.

His individual performances, however, were underwhelming, as the 22-year-old ended Stage 2 with a 0.92 performance rating.

Once Vitality reached the playoffs, they decided to bench KovaQ to make room for Sayf’s return, marking the end of the Swiss player’s short stint with the European team.

The departure of KovaQ is the fourth change Team Vitality have made ahead of the 2026 season, following the signings of Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov, Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, and Dawid “PROFEK” Święć, who brought up Vitality’s roster to seven players.

Team Vitality was KovaQ’s fourth team of his VALORANT esports career, which started with KVM in 2022. He later played for Sissi State Punks and ALTERNATE aTTaX before getting a shot in the big leagues.

His departure from Vitality, however, did not leave KovaQ without a home. He was already signed by VALORANT Challengers team, CGN Esports who rebuilt their entire roster with KovaQ and Pontus “Zyppan” Eek as star signings with previous VCT experience.

KovaQ is set to debut for his new team on Sunday, when CNG Esports face off against RIZON in the first round of VALORANT Challengers 2026 DACH Evolution Stage 1 group stage.

The top VALORANT betting sites have yet to open markets for Sunday’s games.
