Karmine Corp have etched their name into Rocket League history once again, dominating the 2025 RLCS Birmingham Major with a flawless 4-0 sweep over The Ultimates in the grand final — the first clean sweep ever recorded in an RLCS Major grand final.
The French organisation delivered a statement performance on Sunday inside a packed Birmingham arena, adding their second RLCS Major title after first tasting success at the 2022/23 Winter Major.
Karmine Corp entered the Major as the +300 favourite in the outright win market with top esports betting sites, and they were nothing short of dominant en route to claiming the title.
After surviving a narrow 3-2 scare against Wildcard in their opening match of the Swiss Stage, they regrouped and found top form, dispatching Geekay Esports and Team Falcons to progress with a 3-0 record.
In the playoffs, Karmine Corp turned up the heat.
They overcame NRG 4-2 in the quarterfinals in a slightly scrappy affair but quickly clicked into top gear, demolishing FURIA 4-0 in the semifinals.
It was a ruthless performance and a warning shot to anyone thinking the grand final would be competitive.
The Ultimates had pieced together a strong campaign of their own, going 3-1 in the Swiss Stage with victories over Luminosity, Gen.G, and Team Falcons — only dropping a match to NRG.
In the playoffs, they stunned Vitality 4-2 before gaining sweet revenge over NRG with a hard-fought 4-3 win to book their spot in the final.
But Karmine Corp proved to be a different beast entirely.
The grand final kicked off with a tense opener, with both sides locked at 1-1 after regulation.
But as so often happens in overtime, it was Karmine Corp who found the breakthrough, setting the tone early.
Game two saw them assert more control — racing out to a 2-0 lead and never looking back in a comfortable 3-1 win.
Game three delivered more back-and-forth action, but once again it was Karmine Corp who found the edge, scoring late to take a 2-1 lead and putting themselves on championship point.
Despite holding a 3-0 series lead, Karmine Corp refused to let up in game four.
A quick goal and some exceptional defensive work saw them maintain a narrow 1-0 lead to close out the series in style.
This historic win at the RLCS Birmingham Major marks several career milestones for the Karmine Corp roster.
Samy “dralii” Hajji was awarded MVP in his debut event with the team, just months after his transfer from Team BDS.
Axel “Vatira” Touret collected his record-breaking third RLCS Major title, underlining his status as one of the game’s all-time greats.
Tristan “Atow.” Soyez secured his first career trophy, capping off a breakout tournament.
The team as a whole became two-time RLCS Major winners, having now claimed titles in both 2023 and 2025.
Alongside the $102,000 first-place prize, Karmine Corp earned crucial RLCS points, putting them in prime position to qualify for the World Championship later this year.
With the Birmingham title in hand and momentum firmly on their side, Karmine Corp now set their sights on the RLCS Raleigh Major.
After such a comprehensive victory, they’ll be the team to beat heading into the next chapter of the season.
