IEM Rio 2026

The final night of the IEM Rio 2026 group stage delivered the bracket-shaping results everyone was waiting on.

Falcons knocked off Vitality to grab the direct semi-final berth out of Group A, FURIA kept the Brazilian crowd rolling with another big win in Group B, and the final playoff spots ended up going to Spirit and NAVI after both teams survived the lower bracket.

Group A results

The biggest talking point from the night came in the Group A upper final.

Vitality went in as favourites at -285.71, while Falcons were out at +200, but it was Falcons who came away with the 2-1 win and the direct path to the semi-finals. It was also a nice result for EsportBet readers, with our Wednesday six-match slate preview landing Falcons at +200 as the upset play. Once the series got deep, Falcons looked more comfortable than the price suggested.

On the lower side of the group, Spirit were made to work by RED Canids but still got through 2-1. Spirit had opened at -1666.67, with RED Canids out at +650, so the result itself was expected, even if the route there was a bit messier than most would have predicted. RED found enough life to stretch the series, but Spirit had too much once the match settled.

G2 also did what they had to do against 3DMAX to stay alive. They were priced at -384.62, with 3DMAX at +260, and they handled the elimination match with a clean 2-0 win. It was a simple, professional response after their earlier collapse against Vitality.

That set up a lower-bracket decider between Spirit and G2, with the last Group A playoff place on the line. Spirit got the better of that one as well, winning 2-0 to book their ticket through and end G2’s run in Rio. After wobbling earlier in the day, Spirit looked much more settled when it mattered most.

Group B results

FURIA were just about in pick’em territory against MOUZ, coming in at -113.64 with MOUZ at -117.65, but the series itself was not nearly that tight.

The Brazilians won 2-0 and looked sharper from the start, which was a huge statement in front of the home crowd. In a match that the market could barely split, FURIA were the team that handled the pressure better and claimed the direct semi-final spot.

Aurora kept their campaign alive with a 2-0 win over B8 in the lower bracket. They were favourites at -250, while B8 were out at +180, and they made that edge count. It was one of the cleaner lower-bracket results from the slate.

NAVI were even shorter against HOTU, starting at -769.23 with HOTU at +430, and they never really gave the underdog much room to believe. The 2-0 win kept NAVI alive and pushed them into one last do-or-die series for a playoff berth.

That final Group B qualifier ended up going NAVI’s way as well. Aurora took a map and made the series competitive, but NAVI still closed it 2-1 to claim the last playoff place from the group. It was not a perfect run through the lower side, but they found enough in the key moments to get themselves into the arena.

Playoff bracket locked in

With the group stage wrapped up, Falcons and FURIA have gone straight through to the semi-finals as group winners.

The quarter-finals are now set, with MOUZ facing Spirit and Vitality taking on NAVI.

That leaves Rio with a strong final six, a live Brazilian title chance through FURIA, and a Falcons side that has already proven it can break the bracket when the price gets too big.

Standout players

m0NESY was the biggest individual difference-maker in the upset, finishing with 59 kills, 90.5 ADR and a 1.41 rating across the series.

Vitality actually had some strong numbers of their own, with ropz posting a 1.31 rating and flameZ backing him up at 1.25, which says a lot about how tight parts of the match really were.

The difference was that Falcons got the key impact when the series needed a closer. That was enough to turn a $3.00 outsider into the team heading straight to the semi-finals.
