One of the best carry players in Dota 2, Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev has made his way back to Virtus.pro after a three-year split. The Russian player exited CIS Rejects after a seven-month stint with the team.

Virtus.pro took to their Twitter page to announce his return and welcomed him back to the fold like the prodigal son. With their official release posted on their website, VP left no stones unturned in revealing their excitement in having RAMZES back with the latest Dota Pro Circuit tour underway.

”Straight as an arrow and devilishly handsome RAMZES is back to our bear den.”

Announcing the re-signing of the 23-year-old, the franchise’s press release acknowledged the talent that is RAMZES.

“RAMZES666 is an iconic figure for our region. His arrival to Virtus.pro marked the renaissance of the CIS Dota six years ago. He had been playing a big part in our club’s success in the following years,”

 the statement said.

They also stated that while he first joined the franchise as a “young prodigy”, he returns a “legendary carry”.

“When he first joined the club, he was but a promising young prodigy, whereas now he’s a legendary carry, capable of performing at the highest level,” the statement continued.

“His experience, talent, and high individual level made him the most obvious candidate for our team. And we’re ready to meet the expectations of the fans and include him to our roster.”

Responding to his return, RAMZES called VP his home and went on to add that he created lots of memories with the franchise in his previous time there. He also stated that now he will be looking to create new stories in his second time with the franchise. He revealed that he has met with his new teammates and they warmed up to him nicely.

“VP is my home, the one I have a lot of good memories with,” RAMZES said.

“We have achieved a lot together, and now it’s time to make a new story. I have had a chance to meet the guys from the current roster and we got along pretty well. We are all eager to play and win. Stay tuned and follow our games!”

RAMZES started out with Courage Gaming but broke into the scene while he was with Team Empire. While he had developed quite the talent under Empire, he made a name for himself under VP in his three-year stay with the organization. He won five Majors with VP and featured in nine Major Finals, garnering approximately US$1.5 million in prize money.

He joined VP on August 4, 2016, after about five months with Team Empire. In no distant time, he became a major part of the Alexey “Solo” Berezin-led team and formed one of the most dominant teams in Dota 2 history. Due to their poor performances and internal conflicts, the team seemed to have met its end as it was dissolved.

With VP’s decision to let go of Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko after his insensitive activity during an official match, RAMZES was considered the right person to lead the young VP roster. The updated roster now consists of Roman “RAMZES” Kushnarev (1), Danil “gpk” Skutin (2), Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin (3), Daniyal “yamich” Lazebnyy (4), and Egor “Xakoda” Lipartiia (5).
