Stage 3 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 has delivered again, with day one’s second round of matches bringing more upsets, standout performances, and some unexpected early pressure for major contenders.
While Spirit, NAVI, and FaZe moved into strong positions, the likes of MOUZ and Team Liquid find themselves dangerously close to the exit after falling to 0-2.
FURIA kicked off the round with a commanding performance against Aurora, taking Dust2 13-5 behind a dominant showing from molodoy. The young star racked up 22 kills and a 1.92 rating, continuing his breakout Major campaign alongside YEKINDAR. The result sends FURIA to the 2-0 bracket, where they’ll be one win away from playoffs.
Virtus.pro also made waves by ending Legacy’s dream start. After Legacy upset Vitality in the opening round, VP steadied the ship and closed out Ancient 13-11. FL4MUS and ICY combined for 40 kills, keeping the team’s momentum alive and setting up a massive 2-0 matchup.
Team Spirit handled business as expected, taking down Lynn Vision 13-7 on Dust2 to also reach 2-0. The ever-reliable sh1ro and donk teamed up for 33 kills, pushing Spirit within striking distance of playoff qualification.
NAVI’s form continued to impress as they edged out 3DMAX in a tight 16-14 overtime battle on Inferno. All five NAVI players contributed in a scrappy match, with jL again leading the way with a 1.18 rating. After a tough start to 2025, this may be the version of NAVI fans have been waiting to see.
Elsewhere, FaZe bounced back with a crucial 13-10 win over MOUZ on Ancient. Veteran rifler rain starred with 21 kills, sending MOUZ to a surprising 0-2 position after back-to-back losses. Vitality also got on the board with a confident 13-6 win against Nemiga, as ZywOo came alive with a 22-11 performance and a 1.77 rating.
In one of the most surprising results of the day, The MongolZ rallied from 0-5 down to beat Team Liquid 13-7. bLitz led the way with 21 frags, pushing the North American side into the 0-2 bracket. G2 rounded out the round by dispatching paiN 13-6 on Dust2, with Snax topfragging in an uncharacteristic star turn.
With so many top teams under pressure, day two of Stage 3 is shaping up to be unmissable.
