ESPORTS wagering site Arcanebet has become the official betting partner of professional gaming organisation Imperialgg.
This is significant because they are among the first pro gaming team to partner with a betting company, a practice that has been stamped out in some other sports, including the NBA where teams were blocked from having Fantasy Sports sites as sponsors.
Imperial is known for the recently acquisition of CS:GO team Mans Not Hot, with the team almost qualifying for DreamHack Winter 2017 and putting together a string of promising performances since then.
“We are very proud to announce our new Title Sponsor, ArcaneBet,” Imperial said in a statement.
“ArcaneBet is an up and coming online betting platform and we can’t wait to grow together with this new partnership.”
Arcanebet will be hoping the Imperial’s growing social media fanbase and growing reputation can increase the visibility of its betting platform, which is facing increased competition as more of the big betting companies seize on esports as an opportunity.
“We’re proud to announce that we’re now the official betting partners of @theimperialgg,” Arcanebet said in a statement.
“We’ve been waiting for a while now to find an organisation that shares our vision and long term goals.
“After long discussion with The Imperial team, we feel that they fit this description best. “
