The upcoming fixture between Natus Vincere and mousesports in ESL One Cologne Group A will serve as a rematch of the ESL Pro League S8 Finals clash from way back in December 2018.
Natus Vincere enter the tournament with one major change, having recently decided to trade out “Edward” Sukhariev for Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov from Winstrike Team. That move has raised a lot of questions, as there are more talented and accomplished players than Boombl4 in the CIS Counter-Strike esports scene.
NaVi played three matches at ESL Pro League Season 9 Europe, where they managed to win 2-0 against BIG but lost 2-1 to both North and Heroic. With those results, they failed to reach the finals. Their last LAN tournament was BLAST Pro Series Madrid 2019, where NaVi finished a disappointing fifth place. They played five matches, winning only against Cloud9 and Giants while losing 16-4 to ENCE, 16-13 to Astralis and 16-9 to Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Mousesports completely revamped their team about four months ago, when they added Finn “karrigan” Andersen as IGL, Allan “Rejin” Petersen as head coach, Turkish star AWPer Özgür “woxic” Eker and 16-year-old Slovakian phenom David “frozen” Čerňanský. Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný and coach Sergey “lmbt” Bezhanov left to join HellRaisers, while Miikka “suNny” Kemppi is currently marked as benched.

Mousesports come into Tuesday’s match in high spirits, as their new project is working quite well. They are destroying lower-ranked teams and holding their own against stronger opposition, with no resounding defeats. Recent results include first place at DreamHack Open Tours 2019 and third/fourth place at the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, where they took some big scalps in MIBR (16-8 Bo1) and FaZe Clan (2-0 Bo3).
