Call of Duty at Esports World Cup 2026 continues on August 6 with Team Falcons vs Project Notorious and Heretics vs Surge.

Call of Duty at Esports World Cup 2026 continues on Thursday, August 6, with the final two round-one group stage fixtures, when Team Falcons face Project Notorious, followed by a meeting between Team Heretics and the Vancouver Surge.

Team Falcons are listed as -714.29 favourites on the best CoD bookmakers to win their opening match of the Esports World Cup.
This comes as no surprise considering their strong performances at CoD League Championship, where Falcons placed third, ending the season on a high note following a long streak of middling results.
Project Notorious are one of the strongest CoD Challengers teams, having recently placed second in CDC Finals.
Fielding a roster of former CDL players, PN have the talent to challenge most of the teams at the EWC, but only in theory, as they are untested.
However, while Project Notorious are no pushovers, they do not have the slaying power to match Team Falcons, who are both a stronger squad and in excellent shape.
Team Falcons -2.5 maps
Team Heretics placed top-six at the CDL Championship following defeats against OpTic Texas and Riyadh Falcons.
They, however, have not looked great throughout the season, ending the year with a 22-23 record.
This still sits them above the Vancouver Surge, who were the second-worst team of the year, with just 10 wins and 27 losses to their name.
Notably, the Surge made some changes for CDL Stage 4, adding Paul “Mamba” Solano and Jaskaran “Craze” Malhi, but showed little to no improvement, so things are unlikely to change ahead of EWC.
On paper, Team Heretics are stronger, but considering their form, it is hard to justify taking their side at these numbers.
This is a clash between two struggling teams, and it should play out as such.
