Gen.G Esports looked very shaky in VCT Pacific Kickoff, which they finished in ninth-10th place. And deservingly so.

Gen.G entered the season as serious title contenders, but appeared lost and disorganized in the Kickoff event, struggling to find any form of traction largely due to confusion with the roles assigned to the players.

With no new arrivals, a role swap could help Gen.G improve. While it may sound slightly optimistic, Gen.G have now had much more time to fix their issues, so a better display is to be expected. Even with that in mind, it is hard to justify the $1.57 price tag the top VALORANT bookmakers have given the Korean squad.

Global Esports ended the Kickoff event in seventh-eighth place, which does not sound great. But they did not perform poorly and came close to beating Paper Rex.

Global Esports are a good, but not a great team. On the other hand, Gen.G have the potential to be great, but until they show something, it is hard to put too much trust in them.

VARREL ended the Kickoff tournament in last place, with defeats against Global Esports, DRX, and Gen.G. T1 fared better and placed second, beating Gen.G, DRX, Paper Rex, DetonatioN FocusMe, and Rex Regum Qeon.

The Korean squad failed to carry over the momentum to the Masters Santiago and crashed out in ninth-10th with a 1-2 record. Despite the humiliating display in Chile, T1 enter Pacific Stage 1 as one of the strongest squads.

T1 have the potential to emerge as one of the league’s top teams, but the $1.36 tag is too pricey. VARREL should do better in Stage 1 now that the roster has had time to adjust to VCT. Considering T1 are not at 100% yet, an upset is not as unlikely as the odds suggest.
