Top Esports and Team WE will fight for survival in League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2026 lower bracket round 1 on Saturday, February 28, when the two Chinese squads clash for the second time this season.
The last meeting, on February 9, in the first round of Knights Rivals, ended in a 3-2 victory for Top Esports.
The first map was chaotic back and forth, ending in Team WE’s favor. Map two was much slower, but turned into another fiesta, with Top Esports finishing on top. The third map was a one-sided stomp from TES, who choked on map four, despite the strong start.
The game ended with Top Esports rolling over Team WE, with a superb draft with Vladimir and Nocturne, for which Team WE had no answer.
Overall, it was a sloppy series from Top Esports and Team WE, granted, both teams have been very shaky this split with questionable drafts and poor decision-making.
For the rematch, the top LoL bookmakers have priced the two teams at roughly the same odds. On one hand, that is not shocking, as nothing has changed since they last clashed. But like the first time, it makes no sense for Top Esports to be viewed as massive favorites.
Even though Team WE are arguably the weakest team of the LPL Split 1 playoffs, Top Esports are too flawed to carry the tag of such massive favorites.
They’re prone to making mistakes in the early and late game, and considering how the last meeting played out, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that we hear Silver Scrapes on Saturday.
