KT Rolster will look to keep their Cinderella story going on Wednesday, October 29, when they take on CTBC Flying Oysters in the first round of the League of Legends World Championship 2025 Knockout Stage.

Both LoL esports teams have far exceeded expectations this year — especially KT Rolster, who put together a 3-0 run through the Swiss Stage.

The LoL Champions Korea (LCK) fourth seed fought their way to the elimination stage with victories against Movistar KOI, Team Secret Whales, and Top Esports. Meanwhile, CTBC Flying Oyster lost to Anyone’s Legend and Hanwha Life Esports but defeated Fnatic, T1, and FlyQuest in the group stage.

KT have had a softer schedule. Even though they humiliated Top Esports, the Chinese squad have not looked good this tournament, so even that victory can be taken with a grain of salt.

On the other hand, CFO’s only outstanding victory came against T1, though they also played a very competitive game against Anyone’s Legend.

The best betting sites have KT Rolster priced as favorites, which makes sense given CTBC Flying Oyster’s volatility. This is due to their aggressive playstyle, yet that same characteristic also makes them very hard to deal with.

While some may call them too explosive, Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-chuan and his crew have been playing with a lot of confidence at LoL Worlds. More importantly, their level of performance has not dropped even when faced with tougher opponents.

KT Rolster are tough to pin down. They did not look great in the final LCK split and have only beaten one good team in China. Even then, it came down to the impressive performances of the jungle-mid duo, Mun “Cuzz” U-chan and Gwak “Bdd” Bo-sung.

If Cuzz and Bdd step up again, KT Rolster should be in a good spot to take one step closer to the Summoner’s Cup. However, their early game (-756 gold difference at 15 minutes) is a major concern, especially against CTBC Flying Oyster (+328 GD@15).

Even though KT Rolster tend to be more stable in the mid-late game, that will only come into play if CFO do not run away with too big a lead early.

This should be an entertaining game between two teams with different styles. While KT Rolster are rightly the favorites, CTBC Flying Oyster have the tools to cause an upset and are an excellent bet at outsider odds.
