The Canadian rifler is heading back to FaZe at the conclusion of FISSURE Playground #2.

FaZe Clan have announced the return of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who is set to rejoin his former Counter-Strike 2 team after nearly two years.
The 25-year-old rifler is confirmed to depart Team Liquid at the end of FISSURE Playground #2, which is set to wrap up on September 21.
The announcement marks one of the biggest roster changes of the CS2 esports season. However, it also leaves one unanswered question: who will leave FaZe’s active lineup to make room for the Canadian star?
Twistzz represented FaZe Clan from January 2021 to December 2023, winning two ESL Pro League titles, Intel Extreme Masters trophies in Katowice, Cologne and Sydney, and PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
His second stint with Team Liquid has been far less successful, with a top-four finish at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 marking their best return in that period.
Amid numerous roster changes, Twistzz was appointed as in-game leader — yet even that change did not lead to any major improvement.
This year, Team Liquid have not placed higher than top six in a single tournament. Their most notable placement remains a quarterfinal appearance at IEM Melbourne 2025.
FaZe Clan have not been having the best run through the season either, with top-four results at PGL Cluj-Napoca and PGL Bucharest their only standout returns.
Both teams are competing in FISSURE Playground #2, where FaZe have enjoyed the more promising start.
Two rounds in, they have beaten paiN Gaming and 3DMAX, leaving themselves one win away from locking in a playoff spot.
Meanwhile, Twistzz and his crew are winless and will fight for survival on Monday, when they face off against HEROIC.
The latest odds on the top Counter-Strike 2 betting sites have Liquid as +107 underdogs to secure their first point of the tournament.
