The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2025 Birmingham Major commenced on Thursday, March 27, at the bp pulse LIVE arena in Birmingham.
Each of the 16 Rocket League teams competed in their first two matches of the Swiss Stage, with each squad needing to record three series victories to advance to the playoffs.
FURIA Esports kicked off the day with a dominant performance over Helfie Chiefs, securing a 3-0 victory with game scores of 4-0, 2-1, and 8-3.
Geekay Esports overcame FUT Esports 3-1, while NRG defeated Gen.G 3-1, bouncing back after losing the first game 0-1 to win the next three 2-1, 1-0, and 2-1.
Pre-tournament favourite with top esports betting sites, Karmine Corp, edged out Wildcard in a tight 3-2 series, bouncing back after losing two of the first three maps.
Team Vitality went all the way to game five, claiming a narrow 3-2 win over Twisted Minds, with game scores of 1-2, 3-1, 2-1, 4-5, and 3-4.
The Ultimates took care of Luminosity Gaming 3-1, even though they started slowly and lost the opening map 2-3 before claiming the next three comfortably.
Dignitas and Team Falcons concluded round one of the Swiss Stage with 3-1 victories over Complexity and Team Secret, respectively.
In the high matches of round two, Vitality and Karmine Corp secured 3-0 wins over FURIA Esports and Geekay Esports, respectively.
Meanwhile, Falcons and NRG maintained their unbeaten record, with each of them claiming 3-1 wins.
Luminosity Gaming, FUT Esports, Team Secret and Helfie Chiefs will be fighting for their tournament lives on Friday, after suffering their second loss of the Swiss Stage.
Gen.G, Wildcard, Complexity and Twisted Minds picked up their first win of the Major and they will clash with the losers of the high matches from round two.
Rounds three and four of the Swiss Stage will take place on Friday, culminating with eight teams advancing to the playoffs and the other eight being eliminated from the Birmingham Major.
