Valve has announced the final Regional Rankings (VRS) before the Perfect World Shanghai Major, which will determine the seeds for the Counter-Strike 2 organisations that qualified for the event.
BIG and 3DMAX were two of the teams that were eagerly awaiting the rankings to be released after Valve controversially changed the elimination stage invite rules midway through the Europe B RMR.
Although BIG were dominant through their three matches in the Europe B RMR and claimed automatic qualification to the elimination stage of the Major, the rule change has since dropped them into the opening stage.
Not only did BIG miss out on the elimination stage, they are only the fifth seed in the opening stage of Shanghai Major and will kick off their campaign against Passion UA, who they previously defeated in the 2-0 pool of the RMR.
Meanwhile, 3DMAX claimed the eighth and final elimination stage spot after SAW and Eternal Fire failed to qualify for the Major.
The other elimination stage squads come as no surprise, as the likes of G2 Esports, Natus Vincere and Team Vitality topped the overall rankings for the Shanghai Major.
