FlyQuest clawed their way into the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational playoffs by beating GAM Esports and Shopify Rebellion in the third round, and RED Canids in the fourth round of the Swiss Stage.
It was a nice bounce back after losing to LGD Gaming and Natus Vincere, but even in their last three outings, the North American squad did not impress.
FlyQuest dominated both GAM Esports and RED Canids, but that is hardly something to write home about as those were the weakest teams of the tournament.
Meanwhile, FlyQuest’s win against Shopify Rebellion was anything but a convincing one, as it should have ended the other way had SR not slipped.
Team WE cruised through the Swiss Stage, beating GAM Esports and HAJIN BRION.
The latter was a fairly close match, with Team WE proving more efficient in taking advantage of their opponents’ mistakes.
The Chinese team have done what was expected of them.
Even though it is hard to judge a squad based on two games alone, it is easy to question FlyQuest and their chances to cook up an upset.
The LoL Championship Series representatives have been very underwhelming this tournament and have only looked good against weaker teams.
By all metrics, Team WE are the toughest opponent FlyQuest will have faced this year, and very likely too big of an obstacle to overcome.

Top-rated LoL bookmakers have HAJIN BRION and LGD Gaming priced at nearly the same odds, suggesting a close game.
This makes sense, as there is not much to set them apart.
LGD Gaming are 2-1 this event, with wins against FlyQuest and JD Gaming and one loss against BNK FEARX.
HAJIN BRION, on the other hand, defeated Natus Vincere and JD Gaming but lost against Team WE.
In their games against Team WE and Natus Vincere, BRION showed some cracks.
They made several errors and questionable decisions, which allowed their opponents to gain sizeable leads.
This is an issue, but only if LGD Gaming will be able to take advantage of the situation.
LGD have done what was expected of them so far, but they have only beaten two shaky teams and got run over by FEARX, even though FEARX did not play perfectly.
HAJIN BRION have not been great, but it is hard not to trust a Korean team over an LoL Pro League representative.
LGD have a bite to them, but they failed to punish BNK FEARX, so they are just as unlikely to do so against BRION.
