What’s on in esports for week beginning September 1, 2025

We take a look at the week ahead in esports and the highlight events for September 1-7, with The International taking the spotlight in Hamburg.

Another week of pro gaming will kick off on Monday, September 1, 2025, with Dota 2 taking center stage in Hamburg, Germany.

The most prestigious Dota 2 tournament, The International, will begin with the group stage on Thursday, September 4.

Following the conclusion of the BLAST Open Fall Closed Qualifiers, the main event of BLAST Open Fall in London will start on Friday, September 5.

Meanwhile, Split 3 of the League of Legends Championship of The Americas will conclude this weekend, with the final series of the LTA North and South playoffs taking place.

The International 2025, regarded as the most important event on the Dota 2 esports calendar, will run from September 4 through September 14.

The world’s top 16 squads will compete in the title’s biggest tournament in Hamburg, Germany, with each of them striving to lift the Aegis.

The best esports betting sites have marked TI 2021 and 2023 champions Team Spirit as the +162 favorite to claim the title. PARIVISION (+400), Team Liquid (+550), Team Falcons (+600), and BetBoom Team (+800) are also given strong chances at single-figure odds.

The next Counter-Strike 2 event scheduled is BLAST Open Fall in London, which is set to run from September 5 to September 7.

With the remaining series in the BLAST Open Fall Closed Qualifiers taking place on Monday, only four squads — Team Vitality, FaZe Clan, MOUZ, and FURIA Esports — are locked in so far for the six-team event in London.

With US$330,000 in prize money up for grabs, the six participating teams will compete in a single-elimination playoff bracket across the three days of competition.

The League of Legends Championship of The Americas (LTA) North and South Split 3 is nearing the conclusion, with three playoff series scheduled for the weekend in both leagues.

FlyQuest (North) and Keyd Stars (South) have already secured their spots in the grand final, awaiting the winner of the lower bracket final on Saturday.

The champions of LTA North and LTA South will secure automatic qualification for the League of Legends World Championship, while the top three squads from each league will also advance to the LTA 2025 Championship.
