What’s on in esports for week beginning May 13, 2024

We take a look at the week ahead in esports and highlight the main events for May 13-19, with League of Legends maintaining the spotlight.

Another huge week of esports kicks off on May 13, 2024, with League of Legends retaining centre stage.

The final week of both the LoL Mid-Season Invitational and PGL Wallachia events will take place, with games set to be played from Tuesday to Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Rainbow Six Siege BLAST Manchester Major will begin on Wednesday, May 16, with the first phase of the tournament being played across Wednesday and Thursday.

League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational

With only six series to be played during the final week of MSI 2024, the action will continue on Tuesday, May 14, in Chengdu, China.

Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming have been marked as clear favourites to take out the Mid-Season Invitational, as they will clash in the upper-bracket final and the winner will advance to the grand final.

T1, Team Liquid, Top Esports and G2 Esports will battle it out in the lower bracket after losing in the upper-bracket quarterfinals and semifinals last week.

Dota 2 PGL Wallachia

The last three days of the group stage at PGL Wallachia will take place from Monday to Wednesday before the Dota 2 event moves into the playoff phase.

Team Falcons and Xtreme Gaming have already qualified for the playoffs after winning all three of their group series.

Rainbow Six Siege: BLAST Manchester Major

The BLAST R6 Manchester Major will be the first Major of the 2024 Rainbow Six Siege season, with 20 of the world’s best teams congregating in Manchester, England.

The event will run from May 16–26, with a US$750,000 prize pool up for grabs as well as valuable Six Invitational Global Points.

Esports betting sites have FaZe Clan and Team BDS marked as equal favourites in outright betting market at +500, closely followed by FURIA and M80 at +700 apiece.
