What’s on in esports for week beginning August 25, 2025

Another week of pro gaming will kick off on Monday, August 25, 2025, with VALORANT taking the spotlight as many esports titles take a small break following the conclusion of the Esports World Cup.

With VALORANT Champions 2025 set to kick off on September 12, all four of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) regional splits will finish this weekend.

Meanwhile, the final BLAST Premier closed qualifier of 2025 will be held during the week, as 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams battle for six spots at BLAST Open Fall.

VALORANT Champions Tour 2025

Following the conclusion of the VALORANT Champions Tour China Stage 2 split on Sunday, August 24, each of the three other regions will follow suit this coming weekend.

The VCT Americas, VCT EMEA and VCT Pacific Stage 2 grand finals are scheduled for Sunday, August 31, with the remaining matches of the playoffs taking place throughout the week.

Although most of the VALORANT Champions spots are known, two VCT EMEA spots are still up for grabs, with BBL Esports and GIANTX able to take those spots by making the grand final.

CS2 BLAST Open Fall qualifier

The BLAST Open Fall closed qualifier will be held online from Wednesday, August 27, through Monday, September 2, with 16 squads competing in two double-elimination group stage brackets.

With only six spots at BLAST Open Fall up for grabs, two teams from the upper bracket and one from the lower bracket will qualify from each group.

Top esports betting sites have marked Team Vitality (+137) and Team Spirit (+175) as the clear favorites to claim the BLAST Open Fall title.
