LGD Gaming won against Team WE last week, proving that they’re not the worst team in the league. But they followed that up with an underwhelming showing against Weibo Gaming on Friday, earning their ninth loss of the split.
LGD have not shown much improvement since the start of the split, and even after making roster changes, they’re still struggling to perform. On a more positive note, LGD have a solid win rate on blue side and will take games if you let them, yet that only works due to their ‘full send’ approach, which is not the most efficient way to play.
ThunderTalk Gaming have continued to improve as the season has gone on, and even though they fell flat against Top Esports last time, you can’t blame TT for losing against one of the elite LPL teams. Much of ThunderTalk Gaming’s success is thanks to their excellent early game, which could be a problem for LGD, who are notoriously terrible in early-mid transitions.
Since LGD Gaming can pick a side for this match, you could argue that they might steal a map. But their level of play is not good enough for us to believe in that.

Weibo Gaming are 9-4, which isn’t perfect, but it’s enough to guarantee them a playoff berth. From what we have learned about this team, Weibo can play solid LoL, but they’ve got a tendency to play down or clown around when faced against lesser teams. Luckily, that won’t be an issue on Wednesday.
JD Gaming suffered their second defeat on Saturday when they fell against Royal Never Give Up. It is a significant blow to their regular season title hopes, but it doesn’t change the fact that JD Gaming are one of the main candidates to win the LPL crown.
But as good as JD Gaming have been, they tend to drop maps against lesser teams, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility to see Weibo Gaming get their names on the board. Still, at -250, this is not a play we’re interested in.
JD Gaming are usually involved in high-scoring games (16.7/11.4 average Kill/Death), while Weibo Gaming’s figures rank them somewhere in the middle of the table (13.5/11.2) and knowing that Weibo might want to pick a more aggressive composition to upset the Chinese LoL titans overs looks like the best play.
