Team Liquid have made two key signings with Ace And tOfu joining their Dota 2 roster.

Team Liquid have bolstered their Dota 2 lineup with former Gaimin Gladiators players Erik “tOfu” Engel and Marcus “Ace” Christensen coming on board.
Ace and tOfu replace Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek and Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi, who are the only two departures since Liquid concluded their The International 2025 campaign.
SabeRLight- was benched just over a week after TI, while Insania announced retirement from pro play on Tuesday, ending his six-year-long stint with the European squad.
Ace and tOfu join Liquid from Gaimin Gladiators, with whom they spent nearly four years. They signed for Gaimin Gladiators in February 2022 and have since accumulated a nice haul of trophies.
Notably, the duo led Gaimin Gladiators to gold medals at Lima Major 2023, DreamLeague Season 19, ESL One Berlin Major 2023, DreamLeague Season 20, and Riyadh Masters 2024. He also won a silver medal at The International 2023.
Despite their success with GG, Ace’s and tOfu’s departure does not come off as a shock, given the ongoing legal battle between the organization and the players, with the former filing a CA$7.5 million lawsuit over contract disputes.
At Team Liquid, Ace and tOfu, will reunite and continue their joint adventure, which started with Team Tickles in November 2021. That roster would later become Gaimin Gladiators’ inaugural Dota 2 lineup.
The arrival of tOfu and Ace fits almost perfectly with what Team Liquid needed to fill in the missing gaps, with the duo placed in the spots left behind by SabeRLight- and Insania.
As revealed, tOfu, who had previously played position 4 was placed in position 5. However, given his synergy with Ace, it is likely Liquid will experiment and move the German to his old position and transition Samuel “Boxi” Svahn to No.5.
With tOfu and Ace, Liquid now field one of the most stacked Dota 2 rosters in Europe, hoping to build on the success this season, with two Tier-1 trophies from PGL Wallachia Season 3 and Season 4.
The roster changes were announced just hours before Team Liquid’s match against MOUZ in the FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 playoffs. Liquid’s new-look roster won the series 2-1 and will face off against Nigma Galaxy in the semifinals on Friday.
