Shopify Rebellion have unveiled Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn as the newest member of their Dota 2 esports roster, filling up the No.3 position previously occupied by Mark “mangekyou” Kharlamov.
The change was announced hours before Shopify Rebellion’s first match of the FISSURE Universe Episode 5 Play-In against One Move.
In his debut, Davai Lama helped his new team to a 2-0 victory, averaging a combined K/D/A of 9/7/18 on Bristleback and Beastmaster.
In his second match, the new signee helped Shopify Rebellion force a draw against Wildcard.
Shopify Rebellion is Davai Lama’s sixth stop of his Dota 2 esports career, which the 24-year-old started in April 2021 with his own team, D2 Hustlers (formerly D1 Hustlers).
His most notable stint came with HEROIC, who Davai Lama joined at the start of 2024 as part of the inaugural roster.
With HEROIC, Davai Lama made his Tier 1 debut but failed to reach for medals, with just three playoff appearances at ESL One Birmingham 2024, DreamLeague Season 23, and BLAST Slam I.
Like the latest arrival, Shopify Rebellion have not found much success in the upper echelons of competitive Dota 2 lately.
Since the turn of the season, they have attended four Tier 1 events — FISSURE PLAYGROUND 1, DreamLeague Season 25, ESL One Raleigh 2025, and PGL Wallachia Season 4 — without placing higher than top nine.
After three successful qualifying campaigns, Shopify Rebellion are now looking to pocket another tournament ticket for FISSURE Universe Episode 5, scheduled to run from June 30 until July 3.
They are also confirmed to attend DreamLeague Season 26, where the best Dota 2 betting sites have them as +8000 longshots for the title.
