The Swede is set to take a break from the VALORANT pro scene as Team Vitality make further changes to their lineup.

Team Vitality released Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel from their VALORANT roster on Tuesday, ending his 20-month stint with the squad.

The news coincides with the 24-year-old’s announcement that he is taking a break from competitive play.

Sayf joined Team Vitality in September 2023 alongside Kimmie “Kicks” Laasner, who remains the longest-serving player on the European roster.

With Vitality, Sayf built on his VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) resume, adding to the VCT 2023 EMEA League title he won with Team Liquid.

In his first season with Vitality, he qualified for his second VALORANT Masters with a runner-up finish in VCT 2024 EMEA Stage 2. Unfortunately, he failed to break into the playoffs, finishing in 9th-12th place.

For the 2025 season, Team Vitality signed two big names in Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev and Felipe “Less” Basso, moving Sayf to the in-game leader role.

As the team captain, he helped Vitality win the VCT Kickoff event and claim fourth place at VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025, where they lost to the eventual champions, T1.

The Bees headed into Stage 1 with high expectations but failed to live up to the hype, exiting in the first round and failing to qualify for VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025.

The lacklustre stage led to Sayf stepping down from the active roster to focus on his well-being, and now he looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

In the farewell video, the Swede said this is not the last time fans are going to see him, hinting at a potential return in the future.

Team Vitality have already found a replacement for Sayf with the signing of Blendi “kovaQ” Kovaci, while Bartosz “UNFAKE” Bernacki will take over from Clément “CyvOph” Millard in a new-look lineup.
