Paweł “dycha” Dycha has announced that he is stepping down from Monte’s active Counter-Strike 2 lineup and taking a short break from competitive play.

This ends the Pole’s seven-month stint with Monte, who dycha joined in July 2024, alongside his ENCE teammate Olek “hades” Miskiewicz, who will continue his stint with Monte.

Dycha’s decision to step away from Monte comes as a surprise; however, as explained by the Polish rifler, he requested to be removed from the team earlier this month and agreed to play out the remaining matches so Monte would not lose VRS ranking points.

“Earlier this month, I asked the organization to be removed from the team’s active roster. We mutually agreed to play out the remaining matches to maintain the VRS ranking without major disruption. After concluding this, I’ve decided to take a short break from the competition.”

In the announcement, dycha gave no concrete reason for his departure, only that things have not worked out the way he wanted.

Over the seven months dycha spent with Monte, he has not won a single trophy and missed out on Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 EU RMRs.

His most notable accomplishments were semifinal runs at YaLLa Compass Summer 2024 and ESL Challenger Katowice 2024, the latter being dycha’s only LAN appearance under Monte.

The team has, however, found some traction early into 2025, with a runner-up finish at CCT Season 2 European Series #16, before exiting RES Showdown Spring 2025: East European Open Qualifier in 5th-8th and CCT Season 2 European Series #17 in 20th-22nd place.

During his stint with Monte, dycha has averaged a 1.08 performance rating, which includes the team’s highest 1.10 rating during Monte’s run to the ESL Challenger Katowice 2024 semifinals.

Dycha is the second player to leave Monte this year, following the departure of his compatriot, Szymon “kRaSnaL” Mrozek, who was let go on January 1.

Shortly after Monte, rebuilt with Gytis “ryu” Glušauskas, Jack “Gizmy” von Spreckelsen, and Ivan “AiyvaN” Semenecj, who got promoted from the Monte Gen academy lineup. The latter joined Monte as a head coach.

It is unclear who Monte will bring in to fill in the gap, while Dycha has not shared whether he has found a new team to represent in 2025.

The 27-year-old has, however, stated that he is open to new offers and ready to join any team that competes at the highest level of Counter-Strike.
