Park “Summit “Woo-tae announced his retirement from professional League of Legends on Friday via a post on his Instagram, ending his eight-year-long career.
The 25-year-old top laner has decided to hang up his mouse and keyboard following a highly successful season with Rainbow7 (now Lyon Gaming), with who he dominated The Liga Latinoamérica (LLA) and led the Latin American LoL esports team to the LoL World Championship 2024.
The veteran previously played for Team Liquid, Cloud9, FunPlus Phoenix, and SANDBOX Gaming (now Liiv SANDBOX).

Summit started his journey in the LoL esports scene with Afreeca Freecs in LoL Champions Korea (LCK) and secured a starting position in Korea’s top flight in early 2019 when the top laner joined SANDBOX Gaming.
The Korean player spent three seasons with SANDBOX before travelling overseas to play with Cloud9, with who he finished LoL Championsip Series (LCS) Spring 2022 in fourth place.
Later that year, Summit moved to China’s LoL Pro League (LPL) to sign for FunPlus Phoenix and ended the season in seventh-eighth.
After years of mediocre results, Summit joined Team Liquid’s ambitious project for the LCS 2023 season, where he linked up with jungler Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon and support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in.
Billed as one of the most stacked rosters in the LCS that season, Team Liquid would not reach the expected heights.
They barely qualified for LoL Worlds 2023, where Summit and co. suffered a humiliating 0-3 exit from the group stage with losses against T1, NRG, and GAM Esports.
Following a disappointing season in the North American league, Summit moved south to join Rainbow7, where he accomplished a runner-up finish in LLA Opening 2024 and ended the year with a gold medal from LLA Closing 2024 with four MVP titles across the group stage and playoffs.
By winning the final split of the regional league, Rainbow7 secured their tickets for the LoL World Championship 2024, where Summit and co. ended their journey in the Swiss Stage with a painful loss against paiN Gaming in the decider match.
Summit retires as one of the most recognisable top laners in the world, having had a chance to showcase his talents across four regions. Unfortunately, his journeyman career has led to just two trophies, from the 9th Esports World Championship and LLA Closing 2024.
As announced, Summit will now focus on streaming on the Korean streaming platform SOOP (previously known as AfreecaTV).
