Call of Duty League (CDL) defending champions OpTic Texas have released Kenneth “Kenny” Williams from their active CoD esports roster following a disastrous run through the second stage of the season.
On Sunday, the Green Wall finalised a humiliating run through CDL 2025 Stage 2, managing a 3-19 map record and just one victory — in the final match of Major 2 Qualifiers against the Los Angeles Guerrillas M8.
A true World Champion, in and out of the game. We're grateful for the leadership and legacy you've built with OpTic

Having shown close to nothing ahead of the Texas Major, OpTic have decided to make drastic roster changes and cut ties with their long-standing member, Kenny, who has been with the team since July 2023.
Kenny’s departure comes as no surprise, as the CDL community has been calling for his sacking for most of the stage.
While the 25-year-old was not solely to blame for OpTic’s historic 18-map losing streak, his performances left much to be desired.
He averaged a sub-0.81 Kill/Death (KD) ratio over the first six games of CDL 2025 Stage 2, his lowest outcome being 0.32 against Los Angeles Thieves in the final week.
“Played some of my worst CoD in my career recently, this was to be expected,” Kenny said in an X post.
“Sad, but gotta get back to where I need to be mentally so I can get back to doing what I do best.”
Even though Kenny’s departure was expected, few anticipated OpTic to turn to Cesar “Skyz” Bueno as his replacement.
Skyz started the 2025 CoD season with Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 before he was benched in February and replaced by Preston “Priestahh” Greiner.
Nevertheless, Skyz joins OpTic as a proven player with a stacked resume, which includes a world championship title from 2023 and a silver medal from last season with the New York Subliners.
He is set to debut for his new team on Friday, March 21, at 4:30pm local time (CDT) in the losers’ bracket of the CDL 2025 Stage 2 Major.
The top CoD betting sites have OpTic priced as +2500 underdogs to win the Major, behind Toronto Ultra (+1400), Vancouver Surge (+750), Atlanta FaZe (+125), and Los Angeles Thieves (-125).
