Top Esports has clinched a place in the Worlds 2022, after defeating EDward Gaming in their recently concluded League of Legends series.

The victory sees Top Esports claim the upper bracket finals spot in the 2022 LPL Summer Split Playoffs, as they edge closer to the Grand Finals and possibly becoming eventual champions of the summer split.

It was a double win for the League of Legends franchise as they also became the first LPL team to qualify for Worlds 2022 after the win against EDG.

Despite being the favorite on GG.BET with $1.72 odds, the game was a tough one for TES, thereby forcing a game five decider match.

TES was able to beat Edward Gaming in the fifth match to a 3-2 score and claim the upper bracket finals spot in the 2022 LPL Summer Split playoffs.

EDG’s communication and teamwork were at an all-time high during the first match. The team started off dominating TES and seemed to know their opponents’ moves before they were executed.

EDG provided suitable counters to TES’ strategies during engages and when they finally won the first game, TES could only secure one kill.

Despite the dreary start, TES was able to get back in good form in the next game and earned a win. The efforts of the team’s bottom lane players, Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo and Ling “Mark” Xu, and their skilful use of their champions, Zeri and Braum, helped TES get their first victory against EDG.

JackeyLove made use of Zeri, and in his hands, the champion seemed untouchable during team fights. After getting his required pieces, he went on to melt down the opposing team’s champions. The bottom laner displayed impressive skills during the game and ended it with a 9/0/7 KDA.

EDG was eventually able to shake off the defeat in game three and secure another win for themselves. The team’s AD carry, Park “Viper” Do-Hyeon, led the team to victory in this game while making use of Lucian.

TES seemed unable to counter Viper’s moves properly and the AD carry succeeded in changing the outcome of any skirmish he was involved in. He did this by the use of a single combo, picking off TES’s selected champions and earning EDG a 2-1 lead in the process.

At the end of the game, he totalled a 12/2/3 score line.

TES’ next strategy to counter EDG in game four was to implement macro-style gameplay. Gao “Tian” Tianliang, the team’s jungler, stood out in this match and made use of Sejuani to carry out timely flanks as well as ambushes against EDG.

The attacks caught the opposing team’s champions off guard on several occasions and ended up being the difference for TES. They were able to secure the Hextech Soul as well as the first Baron and succeeded in destroying EDG’s defences.

Due to the tie, game five was required to declare a winner, and neither team let up in this match. The fights were extremely close, and neither squad allowed the opposing team any opportunity to set up an advantage in the match.

TES was able to get one on EDG and rushed down to their base to demolish the team’s Nexus. They came out as the winners of the game and clinched the first spot in the upper bracket finals of the 2022 LPL Summer Split playoffs.

In the LPL Summer Split playoffs upper bracket finals scheduled to be held on August 26, TES will take on the team that emerges victorious between LNG Esports and JD Gaming.

While EDG is still in the running for the playoffs, the team will face off against the loser of the LNG and JDG fixture on August 25. EDG is a narrow favourite with the top esports betting sites.
