Imperial Esports have won the FiReLEAGUE Buenos Aires 2025 title and the US$50,000 prize with a reverse sweep over 9z Team in the grand final.

Imperial Esports added their third Counter-Strike 2 tournament trophy to their cabinet this weekend when they overcame both Sharks Esports and 9z Team in a unique Brazilian tournament.

Hosted by the Argentinian tournament organiser FiReSPORTS, FiReLEAGUE Buenos Aires 2025 was their first tournament of 2025, and it was held inside Peru Station in Buenos Aires’s subway network.

The event played out in a single day, and it featured just four teams – including Imperial Esports, Sharks Esports, BESTIA, and 9z Team – who qualified through regional Brazilian and South American qualifiers.

As the highest-rated team of the tournament, Imperial Esports (no.34 in the world rankings) were billed as favourites by top esports betting sites, and they delivered on those expectations.

Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo and co. started the event with a comfortable 2-0 sweep of Sharks Esports, whom they beat 13-6 on Nuke and 13-3 on Mirage to secure a spot in the grand final.

The big game offered a much tougher test for the frontrunners, as 9z Team put Imperial on their back foot by picking up a 13-9 victory on Nuke.

Imperial Esports answered back with a dominant 13-1 victory on Mirage, dragging the series to a Dust2 decider.

The final map started in favour of 9z, who were 8-4 up before the switch but lost their lead by the 22nd round when Imperial caught up, winning seven of 10 rounds on their terrorist side en route to victory.

By reverse-sweeping 9z Team, Imperial Esports pocketed US$50,000 as a reward and a direct invite to the 2025 Roobet Cup – a $1 million tournament set to take place on October 13-22.
