The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) season came to a close on Sunday, September 28, when Gen.G Esports secured the trophy with a grand final victory over Hanwha Life Esports.

It caps a dominant season in which the Esports World Cup champions finished the group stage with a 29-1 record and a +48 map differential.

Their playoff run was far from smooth, however, as Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon and his crew suffered a crushing 2-3 loss to KT Rolster in their opener.

However, Gen.G picked themselves up in the lower bracket, clinching a 3-2 victory against T1 before getting their revenge against KT Rolster in the lower-bracket finals.

That set up a rematch of the LCK Road to MSI final, where Gen.G had to come from two maps down to beat Hanwha Life Esports.

The top LoL betting sites had the Mid-Season Invitational winners as -208.33 favorites to win again, and they did not disappoint.

Gen.G took an early lead, winning the first two maps.

Hanwha Life Esports responded with a fast 28-minute victory on the third map, but Gen.G did not allow the series to slip through their fingers.

Map four was another close contest until Gen.G swung the game in their favor on the back of ADC Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, who stole Nashor on Xayah and finished the map with a 9/1/4 score.

The LCK 2025 grand final was Han “Peanut” Wang-ho’s final game in the Korean league before he departs to fulfil his military service at the conclusion of the LoL World Championship.

Gen.G now have four gold medals from this season alone; however, they are not eligible for the elusive Golden Road due to losing the LCK Cup grand final to Hanwha Life Esports.

Despite not being able to contest the highest honor in LoL esports, Gen.G are outright favorites at +150 with BetOnline to hoist the Summoner’s Cup.

Hanwha Life Esports are close second at +225, with Bilibili Gaming (+500), T1 (+600), Anyone’s Legend (+800), and Top Esports (+1200) the only remaining team priced under +1900.
