French Counter-Strike 2 project Mercenaries disband

French Counter-Strike 2 team Mercenaries disbanded on Wednesday, April 16, as confirmed by Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier in an X post.

The news comes after the departure of Aurélien “afro” Drapier and Ali “hAdji” Haïnouss, who joined Monte at the start of the month, leaving Mercenaries with an incomplete lineup featuring Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, Thomas “Djoko” Pavoni, and misutaaa.

The project was formed in March 2025 ahead of PGL Bucharest European qualifiers, where the French squad came two series short of qualifying for the LAN event.

Over the next month, Mercenaries continued competing in other qualifying events, including the PGL Astana 2025 European Qualifier and YGames PRO Series 2025 European Open Qualifier #3, but failed to find much success.

More recently, NBK- and co. attended the Fragster Challenger Series, where they played with Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom as a stand-in for Paul “PerX” von Erdmannsdorff and crashed out in the quarterfinals with a 0-2 loss to Nexus Gaming.

With the disbandment of Mercenaries, NBK-, Djoko, and misutaaa re-enter free agency, although only the latter has publicly announced his availability.

Before joining Mercenaries, misutaa was last active in November 2024, when he attended the Chicken.GG Cup with 9INE.

Djoko was last active with 3DMAX at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2025 in February, whereas NBK- has not been part of another team since leaving Revenant Esports in September 2024.
