CTBC Flying Oyster finalize their 2026 LCP roster, signing Korean mid laner Pungyeon to replace HongQ alongside Rest, Shadow, Doggo, and Orca.

CTBC Flying Oyster announced the signing of Korean mid laner Lee “Pungyeon” Jong-hyuk, who joined the team on Monday, December 22, as the final missing piece of their new roster.
With the arrival of the 21-year-old, CTBC Flying Oyster have found a replacement for Tsai “HongQ” Ming-Hong, who left for JD Gaming, and finalized their League of Legends lineup for the 2026 season.

After competing in LCKCL and the Asia Masters, we are excited to welcome the new rookie mid laner Pungyeon to CFO! Talented and amazing laning stats, he is ready to dominate the LCP mid lane. pic.twitter.com/DqYH3gi1yi
Pungyeon’s arrival, while a big addition to the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) team, does not come as a surprise, as it was rumored to happen over the last few weeks.
However, he was not CTBC Flying Oyster’s first choice. As reported, the LCP champions also considered Lee “M G” Ji-hoon, Jo “Roamer” Woo-jin, Tseng “JimieN” Hao-Chun, and Han “Pout” In-woong.
Pungyeon signing for CTBC Flying Oyster marks his first entry into the top-tier League of Legends.
The 21-year-old started his career in 2021 with Brion Academy. He has since played for SANDBOX Academy and, more recently, Freecs Challengers.
Over the four years competing in the lower tiers of the Korean LoL esports ecosystem, he has found some success.
Notably, Pungyeon helped Freecs Challengers to a bronze medal in LCK CL Summer in 2024, and in October, placed third in the 2025 Asia Masters.
Despite showing promise, he has yet to be offered a shot in the big league, until now.
At CTBC Flying Oyster, Pungyeon will become a part of a promising lineup, which has undergone massive changes following the departures of jungler Yu “JunJia” Chun-chia, mid laner HongQ, and support Ling “Kaiwing” Kai-wing.
The massive exodus of players followed a hugely successful season for Flying Oyster, who won all three LCP splits, reached the semifinals of the First Stand tournament, placed in the top six at the Mid-Season Invitational, and rounded out the year with a quarterfinal run at the LoL World Championship.
Forced to rebuild, CTBC Flying Oyster have acquired Zhao “Shadow” Zhiqiang as a new jungler, support Kuo “Orca” Cheng-han, and Pungyeon to fill in the mid lane gap.
The trio will link up with top laner Hsu “Rest” Shih-chieh and ADC Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-chuan as the only two carryovers from 2025.
CTBC Flying Oyster will debut their new roster in the LCP 2026 Season Kickoff, set to kick off on January 16.
Hsu “Rest” Shih-chieh – top lane
Zhao “Shadow” Zhiqiang – jungle
Lee “Pungyeon” Jong-hyuk – mid lane
Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-chuan – ADC
Kuo “Orca” Cheng-han – support
