YaLLa Esports announced on Monday that the company’s next Counter-Strike 2 event will be played online in response to a congested competitive calendar.

YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025, scheduled for April 16-19, was originally planned to be a LAN CS2 esports tournament held in Doha, Qatar; however, that plan fell through.

YaLLa Compass explained these adjustments were needed to ensure competitive integrity amid scheduling constraints.

Despite moving online, YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025 will remain a ranked event and keep its US$300,000 prize pool.

“Our first priority is always the integrity of the competition and the experience for players and fans,” said Klaus Kajetski, founder of YaLLa Esports.

“We’ve put months of planning and hard work into delivering a standout event, and while the format is changing, our commitment to excellence remains unchanged.”

The changes come due to YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025’s scheduling clash with BLAST.tv Austin Major regional qualifiers (MRQs), scheduled to take place on April 14-17 in Europe, North America, South America, China, Mongolia & West Asia, and the Oceanic & Southeast Asian region.

Had YaLLa kept its event offline, several of the teams involved in the MRQs would have likely withdrawn from Doha.

Tournament organisers are revising match timings to allow teams to attend both the Major qualifiers and YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025; however, it is unclear whether any of the confirmed attendees will still withdraw or not.
