Atlanta FaZe lost game five against Toronto Ultra in the opening match of CDL 2025 Major 3 Qualifiers and followed that up with a 3-1 victory against Carolina Royal Ravens. Across the two games, FaZe dropped three Hardpoint maps.

On a more positive note, FaZe played well on Control and Search & Destroy, which will give them an edge on Saturday, as Miami Heretics are 30% and 41.7% on the two game modes, respectively. Miami are also not too great on Hardpoint outside their favourite maps in Protocol (100%) and Skyline (75%).

Considering the Heretics are strong on those two, however, they should get at least one favourable Hardpoint game on Saturday, which should be enough to take a map. Anything more is doubtful.

OpTic Texas picked up two great victories in the first week when they defeated Minnesota RØKKR and swept Cloud9 New York. After a long dry spell, things are looking up for OpTic, but they still have much to prove — especially against more formidable opponents.

Vegas Falcons rebuilt their roster for Stage 3 but have yet to secure their first win, with two losses against Vancouver Surge and Miami Heretics in the opening week. On a more positive note, the Falcons won their first two Hardpoint maps against the Heretics and were 5-3 up on Search & Destroy – Dealership.

At -151.52, the top CoD betting sites are giving Vegas Falcons a 60.2% chance of winning one map against OpTic Texas, which is a very inviting bet considering OpTic’s Hardpoint record.

Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 lost 1-3 against Carolina Royal Ravens last week when they took Control – Hacienda 3-0. They also played a very close Hardpoint – Protocol (243-250) but were not as good on Search & Destroy and the final Hardpoint map.

It was another painful loss for the Guerrillas, who are not in the best shape. Boston Breach have been holding on better but have hardly shown much more, with a 2-3 loss to Minnesota RØKKR and a 3-0 sweep of Ultra, who had connectivity issues.

Boston Breach look better, but their firepower is lacking, as shown in their past respawn performances. While it likely will not be enough for LAGM to win the game, there is a good chance the Breach drop both Hardpoint maps.

Los Angeles Thieves played just one game last week, defeating Vancouver Surge 3-0. The Thieves won Hardpoint – Skyline with 250-183, Search & Destroy – Dealership with 6-3, and Control – Protocol 3-1.

Cloud9 New York did not have the best start to the third stage, with a 0-3 loss to OpTic Texas marking their fifth defeat over a six-game stretch. That includes a 0-3 result against Los Angeles Thieves at Major 2.

Even though C9NY have not had the easiest schedule, they also showed very little when faced with CDL’s top dogs, so it is hard to make a good case for them and their chances to upset Los Angeles Thieves.
