Aurora GamingG2 Esports

Aurora Gaming and G2 Esports are listed at the same odds, suggesting a highly competitive game to kick off the tournament.

The two teams are very similar in the sense that they have the individual quality to challenge for big trophies, but neither have shown much of late.

Aurora Gaming had a rough showing at the Esports World Cup, where they crashed out in the first round of the playoffs.

G2 Esports were just as unsuccessful, exiting the event in the quarterfinals with a 1-2 loss to FURIA after beating only Astralis, BIG, and M80.

Both teams have been struggling with their form, suggesting a scrappier affair.

Considering their map pools, with G2 holding a higher win rate on two maps and Aurora on three maps in the rotation, it is fair to assume each team will get one favourable map.

A close, three-map series is likely on the cards.

Team SpiritDENDELE

Team Spirit will be expected to dominate on Wednesday, with the top-rated CS2 bookmakers listing them as -1428.57 favourites to take down DENDELE.

This is not a surprise, as Spirit are one of the main title contenders, while DENDELE are one of the lowest-rated squads attending BLAST Open Fall.

DENDELE have shown some pulse lately, with a 2-1 win over FURIA and a 1-2 loss against FaZe Clan during BLAST Bounty Summer Qualifier.

Moreover, DENDELE seem to do well on Cache and Inferno, two maps Spirit either do not like to play or are not as efficient on.

This is not enough to expect an upset, but DENDELE can bite on some maps and Spirit will likely be fatigued early on due to their recent Esports World Cup obligations.

Natus VincereM80

Natus Vincere are expected to handle M80 with ease on Wednesday.

Given the raw quality of this roster, that makes sense; however, NAVI’s form over the last few weeks has been worrying.

Natus Vincere have lost three of the last four games against Team Falcons, G2 Esports, and Legacy.

The other two were close victories against The MongolZ and 3DMAX, which does not inspire much confidence either.

M80 have not been very successful either, recently crashing out of the Esports World Cup in 25th-32nd place, and they are 0-3 from the last three, having not found any notable success outside of regional events.

Natus Vincere are not playing at their best, but they are a tier above M80, who have yet to prove they can challenge tier-one teams.

FuriapaiN Gaming

FURIA have recently placed fourth at the Esports World Cup, adding to their silver medal from the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major.

With two deep tournament runs behind them, FURIA are in good form and could be one of the dark horses to make a run in BLAST Open.

PaiN Gaming were also in attendance at the EWC, but they failed to make much of a splash.

They finished 17th-24th, losing to 9z Team and The MongolZ, with one 2-1 win against Wildcard.

While these regional derbies tend to play much closer than they should, paiN are not in the best shape, and they tend to struggle on FURIA’s best maps.

There is little to suggest paiN can properly challenge FURIA.
