Astralis have had a relatively solid run so far at the Esports World Cup. They crushed MIBR 13-6 in the first round, but could not make it past the reigning Major champions, Team Falcons, losing 7-13 on Ancient and 11-13 on Dust2.

Ninjas in Pyjamas, on the other hand, lost to Legacy in the opening round of play before upsetting BetBoom Team 2-0 in the lower bracket, with 13-3 on Nuke and 13-11 on Anubis.

However, while beating BB Team looks impressive on paper, BetBoom did not play well on the day, so it is fair to take that victory with a grain of salt.

Admittedly, Astralis have only beaten MIBR, but they showed some fight against Falcons, and they have been ramping up ahead of their trip to France.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have yet to show enough to trust them at this price. Astralis at -120.48 on the top CS2 betting sites is an excellent bet.

Legacy and MIBR have met five times this season, more recently in June during the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major, when MIBR came out ahead 13-8.

However, Legacy won the more recent best-of-three clash 2-0 during the CS Asia Championships.

MIBR handled Legacy last time out, but they have since looked very shaky. Even at the EWC, MIBR have yet to show much, having been crushed by Astralis before beating K27 13-10, 13-5.

Legacy defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Group B opener with ease, and even though they lost against FaZe, Legacy deserve some slack for it.

The Brazilians are 2-4 in their last six outings, but all those losses came against tier-one teams. Legacy are more battle-hardened and rightly the favourites.

Lynn Vision are +800 underdogs for their clash with Team Vitality, which is a big number, but a fair one.

Team Vitality, despite their slip-ups in recent S-tier events, are one of the world’s most stacked rosters and should never struggle against a team like Lynn Vision.

Even though Vitality have been very shaky of late, and they did not impress anyone with their 1-2 loss against B8 in the upper bracket semifinals, Lynn Vision do not have the firepower to outperform the Bees and find the same success as B8.

PARIVISION lost their first match of the Esports World Cup against B8 11-13, but bounced back with a 2-0 sweep of 100 Thieves.

Meanwhile, MOUZ bested Lynn Vision Gaming to start off the tournament, before losing to FUT Esports in the upper bracket semifinals.

MOUZ have not looked as polished as expected this event, so it is more than fair to question why they are listed as -250 favourites.

Even though MOUZ impressed with their title run at BLAST Bounty Summer, they have not shown the same hunger in France, making it easier to believe that PARIVISION can upset.

PARIVISION are a volatile team, but they have a lot of firepower, which can be difficult to deal with for any squad, especially one not playing at 100%.

The MongolZ have shown good things in Paris. They defeated magic 13-7 in the first match of Group D and then played a competitive game against Natus Vincere, losing the match 1-2.

PaiN Gaming have been far less convincing. They got stomped by 9z Team 3-13 in the group opener, and needed a reverse sweep to make it past Wildcard in the lower bracket quarterfinals.

MongolZ have had their iffy moments of late, which is justifiable as they have recently made some roster changes.

But in more recent matches, the Mongolian outfit have shown progress, and if they could challenge NAVI, MongolZ should not struggle to take down the limping paiN.

Magic kicked off their Esports World Cup campaign with a 7-13 loss against MongolZ, but they improved their impression in the lower bracket, beating 3DMAX with 13-6 on Dust2 and 13-7 on Ancient.

9z Team, on the other side, had an explosive performance in their opening match of the tournament, beating paiN Gaming 13-3.

While they could not make it past FURIA in the semifinals, they still put up a respectable fight.

9z Team have looked stronger this event, but it is hard to judge a team based on two games alone.

Moreover, magic have enough talent to defeat teams of 9z’s calibre and boast a better map pool, with a higher win rate on Cache, Mirage, Ancient, and Anubis.

While this appears to be 9z Team’s game to lose, magic at +169 are underrated and an excellent outsider bet.
