EDward Gaming enter VALORANT Esports World Cup following a promising showing at Masters London, where they placed third and secured their first international podium finish of the season.
BBL Esports did not qualify for Masters London, nor did they perform well in VCT EMEA Stage 1. However, they did finish third in the European EWC qualifiers, which at least gives them some momentum heading into France.
BBL Esports started the season strongly, winning the VCT EMEA Kickoff event and placing top-six at Masters Santiago. But it has been downhill for them since, making it hard to have much faith in BBL and their chances of making a deep run at EWC.
EDward Gaming are +137 underdogs on the top-rated esports bookmakers to win on Thursday, which undersells them. Despite hailing from a weaker region, EDG are in better shape than BBL Esports and have recently proven they have the tools to perform at the highest level.

Rex Regum Qeon and 100 Thieves have both failed to make much noise this season. RRQ finished VCT Pacific Kickoff in fourth place and placed top-six in Stage 1, while 100 Thieves placed fifth in the Kickoff event and fourth in Stage 1.
Both squads are a tier below the top dogs from their respective regions, but they each field a capable roster and have the tools needed to make a run in France.
Between the two, however, 100 Thieves appear stronger. They showed improvement in Stage 1 and looked great in the EWC qualifiers.
Rex Regum Qeon, meanwhile, have not shown much since the Kickoff event and have struggled even against some lower-rated teams from VCT Pacific.
With added preparation time, RRQ can be competitive, but this is 100 Thieves’ game to lose.

Paper Rex are the main contenders to hoist the EWC trophy, priced at +200 on the outright markets. That makes sense following their promising performance at Masters London, where they secured a silver medal, adding to their runner-up finish from Masters Santiago.
NRG were not as fortunate in London, exiting the event early after a 1-2 run in the group stage. However, their slip-up at the latest Masters event makes NRG no less of a threat, as they have proven themselves as one of the world’s strongest VALORANT teams.
NRG have two VCT Americas bronze medals and a third-place finish from Masters Santiago. Even though their iffy display in London would suggest NRG are not comfortable in the current meta, they have now had more time to adjust.
Qualitatively, NRG and Paper Rex are not too far apart. Considering Paper Rex must also be feeling some fatigue from a packed schedule, a closer game is likely on the cards for Thursday.

Team Vitality are heavily favoured to defeat Karmine Corp on Thursday, and for all the right reasons. While these two teams have had a bit of a rivalry between them, that has not really been the case this season.
That is mainly due to Karmine Corp’s struggles, as they have yet to leave a lasting mark with a ninth-10th place finish in VCT EMEA Kickoff and 11th-12th in Stage 1.
Team Vitality, meanwhile, have been on the upswing with a runner-up finish in Stage 1 and a very promising fourth-place finish at Masters London.
Team Vitality are one of VCT EMEA’s strongest squads, while Karmine Corp are anything but that right now. This has a 2-0 sweep for the Bees written all over it.
