FURIA stumbled in the opening round of the playoffs, falling to Leviatan after a complete collapse across the final two maps. They started with a 13-8 win on Breeze, but then dropped Split 5-13 and were crushed 1-13 on Pearl.
That was a worrying showing from the defending champions, who simply could not keep up with Leviatan’s firepower once the series turned against them.
It was not FURIA’s only shaky performance of the split either. They showed cracks during the group stage, so it is not too surprising to see the best VALORANT bookmakers pricing them as underdogs for this lower bracket clash.
NRG missed the upper bracket, but they posted a solid 3-2 regular-season record and have been one of the more consistent VCT Americas teams this year, with bronze medals at both the Kickoff event and Masters Santiago.
They also looked much better towards the end of the group stage, beating Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, and Sentinels. NRG are clearly in better shape, but FURIA still have a very high ceiling, and that makes them difficult to write off completely.
This has the ingredients of a much more competitive series than the odds suggest. Over 2.5 maps is the best way to approach it.

100 Thieves lost their first playoff match against G2 Esports in very one-sided fashion. The result was not a huge shock, as G2 tend to step up once the playoffs begin, but it was still a flat showing from 100T.
They looked toothless for most of the series and did very little to suggest they are ready to make a deep lower bracket run unless they find another level quickly.
LOUD finished fourth in Group Alpha, but that sounds worse than it really was. They still posted a 3-2 record, and while there were some slip-ups along the way, including dropped maps against Cloud9 and ENVY, they also picked up wins over Leviatan and MIBR.
That body of work is stronger than the seeding might suggest. LOUD have been uneven, but they have shown they can beat quality opposition, and their ceiling looks high enough to trouble a 100 Thieves side coming off a rough playoff opener.
100 Thieves showed signs of life late in the group stage, but their performance against G2 does not inspire much confidence. At plus money, LOUD are the clear value pick.
