Fnatic have had a poor season by their usual standards, even if there have been a few bright spots along the way. Their Week 2 win over G2 Esports showed there is still some upside in this lineup, and their Week 5 performances were at least more encouraging than what they produced earlier in the split.

The problem is that Fnatic remain flawed. They still struggle to close out games cleanly, and too often they let winnable positions slip away. That makes them difficult to trust outright, especially against one of the stronger teams in the league.

Team Vitality are in excellent shape, having won all but one series this split. They have dropped the odd map here and there, but overall they have looked stable, dangerous, and without any obvious weakness for opponents to attack.

Vitality deserve to be favourites, and the -400 price on the best LoL bookmakers reflects the gap between these teams. However, at that number, backing Fnatic to take a map makes more sense than chasing the short favourite.

Fnatic’s record is poor, but their body of work is not completely hopeless. Combine that with Vitality’s occasional slip-ups, and the map handicap market looks like the best angle.

SHIFTERS vs MOVISTAR KOI

Shifters are still winless at 0-7, but they have looked better lately. Their games against Karmine Corp and Natus Vincere last week were much more competitive, and relative to what they showed earlier in the split, those performances were genuinely encouraging.

Movistar KOI return to the server for the first time since April 19, having sat out Week 5 of LEC Spring. The extended break should have given them time to rest and prepare, but it also means there is a little bit of uncertainty around how sharp they will look straight away.

The bigger issue is that Movistar KOI are never the easiest team to trust as big favourites. Their ceiling is high, but their floor can drop quickly, and without side selection, this is not a spot where they look especially appealing at a short price.

Shifters are still unlikely to pull off the full upset, but they have shown enough improvement to believe they can make KOI uncomfortable. If Movistar drift into one of their low-focus games, the underdogs are more than capable of taking a map.
