Team Spirit and Team Vitality advanced to the IEM Rio 2026 semifinals after dominant quarterfinal wins over MOUZ and Natus Vincere.

Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2026 moved into the playoff stage overnight, and the quarter-finals gave us two very different stories. Team Spirit were far too sharp for MOUZ in the opener, while Team Vitality produced one of their cleanest series of the event to sweep Natus Vincere and book a semi-final clash with FURIA Esports.
At EsportBet, readers can also find the latest Counter-Strike betting previews, tournament breakdowns, and odds coverage, along with our IEM Rio betting preview for Saturday to compare how the board looked before the quarter-finals began.
The first quarter-final never really turned into the scrap many expected.
Spirit swept MOUZ 2-0, taking Dust2 13-5 before wrapping up Mirage 13-8, and they were the cleaner side from the opening stages of both maps. MOUZ never found the consistency needed to turn either map into a real pressure test, and once Spirit got in front, the series felt like it was only moving one way.
A huge part of that came from tN1R, who topped the server and gave Spirit a real edge whenever the rounds started to swing. Donk was dangerous as usual, and the rest of the lineup gave MOUZ very little room to settle into the match.
The second quarter-final had the bigger names, but it ended up being even more one-sided on the server.
Vitality swept NAVI 2-0, winning Mirage 13-4 and then following it with a 13-6 result on Dust2. From the first map, Vitality looked faster, sharper and far more comfortable, while NAVI never really built the kind of momentum needed to drag the series into a decider.
ZywOo was brilliant again, finishing the match with 44 kills, 120.3 ADR and a 1.92 rating, while apEX also had a massive night at 35-15 with a 1.70 rating. When your star AWPer and your in-game leader are both producing at that level, it usually means the other side is going to spend the series chasing shadows.
Those results lock in Falcons against Spirit on one side of the bracket and FURIA against Vitality on the other.
That gives Rio a strong final four, with Falcons and FURIA coming in as direct semi-final qualifiers, Spirit arriving after a composed win over MOUZ, and Vitality charging through after one of the most convincing quarter-final performances of the tournament.

| 🇷🇴Mihai ‘iM’ Ivan | 14-28 | -5.36% | 51.8 | 52.8% | 0.55 |
ZywOo was the obvious headliner, but the more telling part of the stat sheet was how much support he got around him.
When apEX is putting up 35 kills, 102.8 ADR and a 1.70 rating in a playoff quarter-final, it usually means the other side never found a way to breathe. That was exactly how this series played out. Vitality were on top from the first map and never really let NAVI feel comfortable.
For NAVI, b1t and w0nderful were the only players to get to a 1.01 rating, which says plenty about how one-sided the match became once Vitality settled into control.
